Boys & Girls Track & Field


The Orange County Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is excited to announce its newest youth sports program: 

Boys & Girls Track & Field 


The purpose of the program is to teach basic running and jumping skills and offer challenging, fun and team based activities, while promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

This program is for boys and girls in grades 5th-8th and consists of five “skill building clinics” culminating with the Inaugural OC CYO Track Meet at Burke Catholic High School.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Skills Development
Dates: April 1, 9, 23, 30, May 7; OC CYO Track & Field Meet- Tues., May 14
Times: 5:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Burke Catholic High School Address: 80 Fletcher St. Goshen, NY 10924
Registration Fee: $50

CYO Parent’s Contract

As a reminder, our parents have signed and agreed to abide by all CYO rules, regulations and policies, including our CYO Athletic Code of Ethics. A parent (or relative or friend) who acts in a manner in opposition to CYO policies will result in their expulsion.

 

CYO Athletic Code of Ethics

CYO athletic competition is a means of training young people to enjoy healthful sports but with the end,

that win or lose, they learn to respect opponents, officials, and spectators.

It is important that all concerned with the CYO athletic program follow this code:

·         To emphasize the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.

·         To stress the values derived from being fair.

·         To show cordial courtesy to opponents and officials.

·         To establish a happy relationship between visitors and hosts.

·         To respect the integrity and judgment of officials.

·         To achieve through understanding and acceptance of the rules and standards of eligibility.

·         To encourage leadership, use of initiative and good judgment by the players.

·         To recognize that the purpose of competition is to promote the physical, mental, social and emotional well-being of the players.

·         To remember that a contest is only an activity and not a matter of life or death for player, coach, school, parish, official and fan.

CYO families interested in registering as parishioners are asked to call the rectory office at 845-651-7792 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays.
